Johan Barnard saw there was a huge demand and started selling wood on a part-time basis back in 2001. When he was retrenched 4 years later in 2005, he made it his full-time job. After being in the wood business for 10 years, “Hoppies Braaiwood” has expanded its product range to include firelighters, charcoal, brikkets and wholesale plastic bags. With this, the company has been rebranded as “Hoppies Distribution”.
This family run business, owned by Johan ‘Hoppie’ Barnard and his son, Ian Barnard, has grown tremendously in the past few years, but still believe that the customer comes first and go the extra mile to give great service.
The Service Excellence award was presented to Hoppies Braaiwood in 2008.
